A group of Dullatur residents has raised over £3000 for the Craighalbert Centre by taking part in this year’s Women’s 10K.
The Centre, based in Craigmarloch, offers education, therapy and support to children and families from across Scotland affected by cerebral palsy and similar conditions.
Elaine Masterson, Pauline and Rebecca Carslaw, Nicola McLean, Leanne Baker, Puk Robertson, Joanne McMurdo, Gillian Whalley, Kath McDonald, Janice Russell and June Hart all live in Linnvale Way, close to the Craighalbert Centre.
Team member Leanne Baker said:
“We’re regular supporters of the Craighalbert Centre’s annual Christmas Shopping Night, and at a New Year’s Eve party, we decided we would challenge ourselves to take part in this year’s Women’s 10K, and raise vital funds for the Craighalbert Centre at the same time. Our total so far is £3045, which we’re delighted with!”
Kirsten Bruce, Marketing & Fundraising Manager at the Craighalbert Centre, said:
“This is a fantastic achievement by all the girls, and we’re really grateful to them for their dedication and support. Fundraising for the Centre helps to support a number of our services, including the Parent & Baby Group, the Siblings Group and the hydrotherapy pool. Without the generosity of supporters, we wouldn’t be able to keep offering these services to the children and families that need them.”
The team has decided to take part in next year’s event, again raising funds in aid of the Craighalbert Centre – but this time dressed as the Linnvale Ladybirds!
