Nursery Group

The Nursery Group promotes a learning day built upon skills and knowledge established in the Parent and Child group. Some children and parents will not have had the benefit of a period in a Parent and Child Group and will require additional help during the introductory period. The important transition to local provision may start at this stage and links with the local teams will be strengthened.

The Nursery prepares for school by:

• Establishing a curriculum based upon the 3-5 guidelines in the context of conductive education.
• Assisting parents’ understanding and acceptance of their children's abilities and independence.
• Providing opportunities for physical and mental exploration and by fostering active participation.
• Providing opportunities for the children to be challenged and to learn through play.
