Our Services - Information for Professionals

The Centre provides comprehensive and integrated educational and therapeutic services for children with a range of neurological problems including developmental delay,  with the aim of enhancing the child’s cognitive and motor abilities.  For those who attend on a full-time basis, comprehensive assessment, educational, therapeutic and evaluation functions are incorporated into a holistic programme to address all of the child’s educational and therapeutic needs.  

Motor, functional, cognitive and communication developmental assessments are conducted to identify the abilities and status of children and young people prior to, and periodically during their attendance and the Centre is also about to embark on a follow-up progamme for children and young people who attend to monitor children’s long-term progress.

In addition to providing educational and therapeutic services, the Centre contributes to the education of future professionals including physiotherapists, occupational therapists and child nurses through undergraduate students attending and engaging with the Centre’s professional staff.  Furthermore the Centre aims to contribute to the knowledge base with the aim of improving the lives of children with brain damage or mal-development.
